You’ll be taken to the operating theatre and made comfortable.
Your anaesthetist will insert a cannula into a vein to give you anaesthetic, fluid and other drugs. You’ll be unconscious or heavily sedated for your procedure.
Your surgery may be performed as a keyhole procedure, keyhole robotic procedure, or open surgery.
The time it takes will depend on the type of surgery you’re having – it could be anywhere between 90 minutes and 4 hours.

After surgery, your wound/s will be closed with stitches, closure strips or staples.
