You may need to have blood tests, imaging and/or an ECG.
Your doctor may also recommend:
- Hepatobiliary iminodiacetic acid scan (HIDA scan)
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP)
Tell your doctor about any existing health problems and medications you’re taking. Ask if you should stop any medications before surgery.
Before your surgery, you’ll meet your anaesthetist to talk about your anaesthesia.
You’ll need to arrange for someone to take you home after your surgery, as you won’t be allowed to drive.
