UNCOMMON CARE MEANS GOING THAT EXTRA MILE
What does winning really mean? Marta, HCF member, may have won a $2,000 gift card from HCF, but it was Stavroula from the HCF Marketing team's generosity that made her month.
“It came naturally, how could I help her get access to her prize? That was it.”
When Marta was unable to activate her gift card, Stavroula decided to stop by on her way home to help. After chatting over tea and getting to know a bit about each other, Marta was able to use her prize from HCF and left feeling so grateful for Stavroula’s kindness.
“Speaking to Marta made me cry,” Stavroula said. “I just wanted to do the right thing by her."
UNCOMMON CARE WHEN IT MATTERS MOST
We offer treatment at home options because whenever we can, we want to give members like Matthew the choice of how they're treated.
“We just assumed that he'd have to have chemo somewhere and have to travel.... then they said that they were going to do it at home and it was just such a relief.”
Matthew’s world turned upside down with this testicular cancer diagnosis. Luckily he had access to Chemo@Home as part of his HCF health cover, which meant he didn’t have to go to hospital and instead was treated from the comfort of his lounge.
We’re always looking for ways show our members Uncommon Care, like saving Matthew and his family the long distance travel and hospital visits.
UNCOMMON CARE MEANS PEOPLE BEFORE PROFIT
"When my results come back as very early stages of melanoma I was shocked. I was lucky enough to avoid surgery and simply had the mole burnt off with no further spreading. I’m so grateful HCF offered me the opportunity to use this service, otherwise the melanoma could have been more aggressive. It makes me feel like HCF actually cares about my health."

UNCOMMON CARE FROM THE SIDELINES
Coaching young netballers is a tough gig. It’s even harder when you’re not an expert in the game. Meet Wayne; the sport-loving WA dad who took on a pack of under-10s and became a court-side hero.

UNCOMMON CARE IN THE OUTBACK
A lot of purple, a little patience and a few chooks: Alice Springs nurse Sarah Brown is known to her community as ‘Napaltjarri’ – friend, partner, and leader in a remarkable venture transforming outcomes for people with chronic kidney disease.
UNCOMMON CARE FINDS ANSWERS
“I was in a lot of pain with my hip when my wife saw the HCF TV ad, so I rang to find out more about the second opinion service. We followed the specialist’s advice and although my recovery has been slow, my pain level has reduced significantly.”

UNCOMMON CARE AT UNEXPECTED TIMES
Going to the dentist with a mob of kids can be difficult at the best of times, but the team at HCF’s dental centre in Brookvale are taking the ache away.
“I’ve got five kids and it’s fairly uncommon to come to a place like this where kids are so welcome.”
“It’s so good to have a workplace where you get the freedom to play with kids while they wait, to colour-in with them on the floor,” said Dental Assistant, Jacinta. “It’s nice to keep everyone happy.”
